Stainless Steel Brake Lines For Gold Wings | FAQ

Available for, GL1500, GL1200, GL1100, GL1000 contact Venco Wings for availability.

The advantages that Stainless Steel brake lines bring to high performance vehicles such as Formula One racecars and GP class motorcycles are now yours to enjoy on your Goldwing!

Better initial brake response, firmer lever and pedal, more feed back from the brake system and less brake fade are all a result of using stainless steel brake lines in place of OEM rubber.

Besides that they look fantastic!!!

Our Stainless Steel Lines have a Teflon core, for a smooth linear brake “feel”. The next layer is Kevlar reinforced braiding, to resist expansion and add flexible durability. Wrap these two inner layers in a braided stainless steel casing covered with a polyethylene coating and you have a DOT approved brake line capable of handling 4000PSI of pressure.

This all translates into getting all the pressure your master cylinders can produce directly to your brake calipers.

Each brake line is a direct replacement for the OEM rubber line currently on your bike. (Note-the GL1500 clutch line does not use the exact routing of the OEM line)

These lines are Factory assembled and ready to install.

All of our GL series lines are available exclusively through Venco Wings

Frequently Asked Questions

Q-What is the benefit of SS lines over OEM rubber?
A-SS lines will not expand, using up braking energy, as rubber lines will.

Q-Will the brake lever and pedal have a different feel?
A- Yes, they will both be much firmer, will initiate braking action earlier in their travel and maintain a more linear braking action.

Q –What is meant by linear?
A- The amount of pressure applied to the pedal or lever is directly proportionate to the amount of braking power.

Q- How easy or difficult is it to install the new line sets?
A- The sets are an exact replacement of the OEM hoses. They are a un-bolt and re-bolt installation. However if you are not comfortable with your mechanical ability you may want to have a professional mechanic install them. Bleeding the new lines can be time consuming; we recommend the use of “Speed Bleeders” or a vacuum brake bleeder tool.

Q- How will the bike’s brakes “feel” different?
A- Both the pedal and the hand lever will have a very firm feel. The brakes will activate earlier in the stroke or travel of the pedal or lever. You will not be able to collapse the lever or pedal near as easily, if at all. You will get more immediate feed back through the pedal and lever as to what your brakes are doing. All in all a much better braking system.

Q-Will my braking distances decrease?
A-Only your braking skills will decrease your braking distance in any given situation. With SS lines your braking system will be doing all it is capable of doing within your skill limits.
